Abstract

Analyse: The thesis is entitled : "Maritime Delimitation In the China Seas".

Part I of the thesis examines the existing maritime delimitation law and the selected legal issues potentially related to the China Sea region.

Part II forms the core of the thesis dealing with the boundary disputes in the two China Seas. The geographical review is followed by the examination of States's claims and their justifications.

Part III deals with the existing rules for dispute settlement with regard to maritime delimitation and their application to the disputes in the China Sea area.

Finally, the general conclusions of the thesis elaborates on the means by which the disputes could be settled.
