In early 2015, the Kenyan government announced the construction of a 700-kilometre-long wall along its border with Somalia, so as to put an end to the infiltration of al-Shabaab terrorists. Three years later, only 8 kilometres have been built of the wall on which the authorities’ security aspirations, along with their wish to close the borders to Somali migrants, are projected.
