This PhD project aims to examine from selected feminist perspectives how international human rights law addresses VAW. Specifically, this project is grounded and guided by feminist analyses to explore how international human rights norms and jurisprudence contribute to processes of silencing or enhancing women's experiences of violence. Ideally, these analyses will open new avenues for identifying the reasons behind normative gaps in the protection of women from violence
