Because of the open design of the international law on climate change, principles play an essential role in determining the legal responsibilities of individual State Parties. While these principles are developed to bring legal clarity, they are also mobilised by different actors. This project is guided by the following research question: "How are legal principles in the international law on climate change mobilised to serve the divergent interests of stakeholders?"
