In my Ph.D. research, I would like to understand the IMF's bureaucratic configuration's (hierarchy)role in producing and reproducing the policy preferences. I am interested in understanding more specifically the role of the appointed and elected Executive Directors and Managers' recruitment and promotion practices over the composition of the IMF Staff (the hierarchical structure) and the overall effect of these practices on the organization's policy transformations.
