Abstract
The PTD outlines my research on how the atomic matter intervenes in the configurations of the global nuclear (dis)order through the workings of the IAEA's nuclear safeguards. It explores three modes of intervention: physicality, plasticity, and virtuality. It proposes the notion of sensorial frictions, which recenters materiality and unfolds an aesthetic mode of politics, which acts enacting violence/conflict and (re)distributing political agency. It also presents methodological considerations.
