AGORA is for this dissertation simultaneously an object of analysis and a call to action. IR has been around for about 100 years, yet questions persevere as to the discipline’s present and future(s) which have not been addressed in a systematic, longitudinal manner. We do not even know what IR is, or what its point is - less yet how to make sense of it or where to turn next. The argument I advance is that this disarray does disservice to the vocation, to its potential and foregoes its politics.
