Abstract

This thesis posits that fostering regime interaction across regime complexes can prove advantageous for biodiversity conservation, recognising the interrelationships among sectoral activities governed by diverse international legal frameworks. The analysis focuses on the implementation of the Agreement on Biodiversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction ("the BBNJ Agreement")as an enabler for effective interactions, reinstating the importance of a centralised governance system for ABNJ.
