My research aims to examine whether the British state's policies on immigration, deportation and police 'stop and search' converge between 1948 and 2017, and if so whether systemic racism was a factor. The aim of this Preliminary Thesis Dissertation is to present the main literature on police 'stop and search', immigration and deportation to determine the potential trajectory this research could take.
