In this PTD I present my research focus, situate myself in the literature and defend my methodological choices. A total of six sections comprise this dissertation, namely the research statement, overview and problématique, literature review, methodology, bibliography and related annexes. The sections are in no way definite, but rather stand to indicate my research efforts up to this point and provide the basis for an in-depth discussion with my supervisor and co-supervisor.
