Abstract

My doctoral project addresses aspects of the historical engagement between queer activism and human rights. The research will provide an account of how subjects are forged through the daily practices of social movements and the subsequent transformation they undergo when translated into legal discourse. The investigation combines ethnographic fieldwork and archival research. The study adopts a socio-legal approach, mainly informed by queer theory.
