Abstract

This thesis has two inter-locking objectives. First, it delineates the nature of the relationship between the law and the innovation process of artificial intelligence. Second and relatedly, the thesis argues that the law should dynamically evolve with artificial intelligence by accounting for the temporal dimension. To do so, it constructs static and dynamic models to determine the optimal legal frameworks for three areas of law key to the innovation process: torts, patents, and competition.
