Abstract
This study examines the welfare impact of access to an online ride-sharing platform on Iranian households using the Household Income and Expenditure Survey. Using a fixed-effects model, we exploit the variation in the timing of entry of this platform in different province capitals in Iran. We find that access to this platform has a significant positive impact on the net income of middle-income Iranian households.
