Abstract
This research concentrates on the connection between individuals and drug-related activities, which can be a vehicle for social mobility but come with the inherent risks of illegal activities. It gets inspiration from discussions on the margins and the state and relates to a long-standing debate on the interrelationship between agency and structure. It uses participant observation and ethnographic interviews to analyse participants' discourse, paying attention to turning points and vital conjunctures that influence their connection with drug-related activities.
