Abstract

In this project, I explore how contemporary image-making practices aim at altering the visual and urban environment they are a part of and, in turn, aim at bringing about socio-political change. These visual media practices, at the heart of my project, are situated in a place with contested histories that is trying to reimagine itself anew. Focusing on these practices of image-making, I investigate the explicit relationship between aesthetics and politics.
