Abstract

In the context of redefinition of racial categories in Brazil, my research aims at understanding how students in free university preparatory classes (pre-vestibular comunitário) position themselves in relation to racial quotas. More specifically, I will observe student's understanding of the social category cotista, and how they relate to it both individually and as a group-member of the organization EDUCAFRO which runs the pre-vestibular.
