Abstract

Indigenous movements in Ecuador brought sumak kawsay up to the forefront of their struggles, expressing their proposition of an alternative of living. My investigation is about this alternative. Specifically, I seek to debate how Indigenous communities from Cayambe have been enacting it through livelihood praxis. Through a community-based ethnographic research, I will develop a collaborative methodology. Thus, I intend to discuss alternatives with an alternative approach, contributing to debates about alternatives, livelihood, anthropology otherwise and decoloniality.
