Abstract
"The text debates the meanings of the of the idiom "macumba", a term that may symbolize a myriad of practices and opinions. In brief, the "macumba" answers for a combination of popular religious ideas which mostly concerns Afro-Brazilian and Pentecostal religions. My plan is to ethnographically move between multiple social spheres following the main thread of the "macumba"myth with the aim of understanding how different groups and individuals manage their conflicting interests"
