My research has two objectives. The first is to study law's enabling role in the context of financialization of world economy. The second is to understand how law is shaped, adapted, reordered and transformed as a consequence of its interaction with economic forces. My case study is the legal debate on sovereign debt restructuring. Hence, this project pursues two analytical aims. First, I seek to describe the enabling role that law and legal institutions have had in the sovereign debt restructuring field. Second, I seek to analyse how law has changed or adapted in this field.
