Abstract

The world is experiencing its third oil price war. Now that the "peak oil" theory has been disproven, producers are weighing up the prospects of a "decarbonization" of the global energy system, which is lowering oil prices. Meanwhile sudden rises and falls in prices have exacerbated the instability in the Middle East: no state seems sheltered from the present geopolitical storm.
