Feminist international relations: some research agendas for a world in transition

The article identifies some research agendas in feminist security studies and global political economy in a historical context of political instability, power transition and neoliberal capitalism. These encompass explanations of: the relationship between gender and violence, including their co-constitution; the promises and pitfalls of the United Nations' women, peace and security agenda; the mapping of labour relations and expropriations in the aftermath of financial crisis and under a new phase of capitalist expansion; and the debate around the 'neoliberalisation' of feminism. The article affirms the continued importance of a critical stance and of asking feminist questions.
