Abstract

The first chapter examines the trade-offs that microfinance institutions face between maximizing profits and achieving social impact. The second chapter examines the role that gender-friendly human resource management plays in their sustainability. The third chapter studies the role of institutions in the current mechanisms of debt allocation to low income countries.
