The objective of this paper is to reveal regional development disparity in three emerging market economies, China, India and Indonesia and explore the possible factors that are behind their regional productivity differentials using newly compiled panel data from OECD Development Center. The data includes detailed information of firms with more than 20 employees from manufacturing sectors in the majority of regions of each country from 2002 to 2008.
