Abstract

Scattering images, bringing them closer, inverting them again and again. How can we redistribute images so that they invigorate thought? Montage in art history and cinema uses a non-linear arrangement of images, an arrangement that opens unexpected paths for academic inquiry. As such, it has great potential as an exploratory and aesthetic practice across the social sciences.
