Abstract
Significant transformation can be expected over the medium term in the relationship between resources considered as common goods – such as the atmosphere –, public infrastructure and the formal economy. Due not least to its inherent diversity, the university has a critical role to play in shaping this transformation, with the potential to be a driving force for sustainability and for the responsible management of resources.
