Abstract

Calls to think and act globally have tended to sidestep the extent to which images of the “globe” have also been central to imperialist fantasies. When studying today’s global environmentalism, it is essential to take into account the geopolitical and historical context, as well as the inequitable international distribution of power and resources that prevails in the contemporary world.
