My Mémoire Préliminaire de Thèse aims to provide a roadmap to my doctoral research. The MPT is divided in two main sections: first I construe my research problématique in relation to the evolution of the discursive representation of Timorese Otherness through time, which I term Timorientalism, and then I present my research questions and methodology envisaged prior to fieldwork.
